HIMACHAL PRADESH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION Test || Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Allied Services/ Posts Examination-2016

HP Allied Services Exam/Test Schemes:

Firstly, an objective type Screening Test of three hours’ duration, will be conducted consisting of one paper of 200 Questions one mark each of multiple choice answers for short listing the candidates for the Main examination. The marks obtained by the applicants in the screening test will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of applicant called for (Main) written examination will be 20 times of the total number of job posts advertised via officials.

The candidates having been declared qualified in the Screening test will be entitled for admission to the (Main) written examination which consists of three papers. The applicants will have to clear all the three subjects. Also the marks obtained by the applicants in their main examination (written part plus interview) would determine their final ranking.

If a tie occur, order of merit shall be determined in accordance with highest marks secured in the viva-voce and if the marks in the viva-voce of the applicants who tie are equal, then the order of merit shall be decided on the basis of highest marks obtained by such applicants in the aggregate of the written test.

The applicants who are declared qualified in the Screening test shall be required to submit required documents in favor of their eligibility for Main written test separately on the described application form, which will be uploaded on the official web portal of the Commission i.e http://www.hp.gov.in/hppsc/ after the declaration of result of Screening Test. No separate intimation will be issued in this respect.

Subjects for HP Allied (Main) Examination:-

Subject with Max. Marks And Time Duration

1. English (Conventional): 150 marks (3 Hour Duration)
2. Hindi(Conventional) 150 (3 Hour Duration)
3. General Knowledge 200 (3 Hour Duration)

The applicants, who will qualify the above described main written test on the basis of merit list shall be called for Viva-Voce Test/personal interview round. The total number of applicants called for viva-voce on the basis of written exam shall be three times the total number of posts declared via notification. The viva-voce will be of 100 marks. The marks obtained by the applicants in the Main written examination as well as in the viva-voce would help in creating their final merit for selection.

Paper of three hours’ duration consisting of 200 marks (General Knowledge) (Objective type).

1. History, Geography and socio economic development of Himachal Pradesh consist of total: 60 marks
2. Knowledge of current events of national and international importance and such matters of every day Observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject consist of total: 60 marks

3. Modern History (From 1857 onward) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India, and Disaster Management. Environment and Gender issues and teaching of Mahatma Gandhi consist of total: 80 marks

HP Allied Services Main Examination Syllabus:-

Paper No. I English (Conventional) 150 Marks: 03 hours

Applicants will be required to answer questions designed to test their understanding of English and workmen like use of words .Some of the questions will be devised to test also their reasoning power, their capacity to perceive implications their ability to distinguish between the important and the less important and to write an essay. Passage will usually be set for summary or précis creation. Credit will be given for concise the effective expression.

Paper No. II Hindi (Conventional) 150 Marks: 03 hours

1. i) Translation of an English Passage into Hindi.
2. ii) Explanation of Hindi passage in Prose and Poetry in same language.

iii) Composition (Essay, Idioms, Correction etc).

Paper No. III General Knowledge 200 Marks: 03 hours

History, geography, and socio economic development of Himachal Pradesh. Knowledge of current affairs of National and International importance and of such matter of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also came from Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian polity, Indian Economy and Geography of India of such nature as applicants should be able to answer without special study and question on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Viva-Voce Round 100 Marks

The applicants will be interviewed by the Commission officer who will have before them a record of his career. He will be asked questions in matters of General interest. The main motive of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the applicant for the services/ Posts or service/post for which he has applied to the Commission. The intended to judge the mental caliber of applicant. In broad terms, this is really as assessment of not only his intellectual qualities but also social values and his interest in current affairs. Some of qualities to be judged on mental alertness, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral values.

Important Factor With Respect To Screening Test Of HP Allied Services Test:

 (i) Answer Key of Screening Test will be uploaded on the official website of the Commission after freezing the answer sheets and objection(s), if any will be entertained up to seven days after displaying/ uploading the same on the web portal of the Commission. The objection(s) will be got verified from the concerned subject expert(s) and if found correct a revised answer key of that screening test will be uploaded on the portal of Commission i.e http://www.hp.gov.in/hppsc/page/notifications.aspx.

(ii) The eligibility of applicants called for the interview test will be determined on the basis of original documents submitted on the days of interview and the Commission will not be responsible if the candidature of any applicant is got rejected at that stage or at the time of verification by the appointing officer. As such, admission to the screening test/examination/ interview shall be purely provisional.

(iii) The summoning of the applicants for viva-voce round; conveys no assurance whatsoever that they will be selected or recommended. Appointment orders to the selected candidate(s) will be issued by the Government of Himachal Pradesh (in the respective Department).

(iv) The applicant who has disability of 40% or more and is not in position to read or write

shall have the discretion of opting for his own scribe/ reader by making prior request in writing along with disability certificate provided by the competent medical officer in support of his claim to the Commission at least two weeks before the examination/ test. Such candidate who shall make the use of scribe/ reader shall be given 20 minutes per hour, extra time during examination.

(v) Re-checking/ re-evaluation, of written examination/ Screening Tests will not be allowed in any situation or case.
